So I thought I'd do something a little different for today's post, a girl can only write about beauty and fashion so much until she's flat out of ideas. Not to worry though, I'm making a very exciting trip to the Selfridges beauty hall tomorrow - I consider it blogging inspiration which totally justifies spending all my money at the Charlotte Tilbury counter, right? Word of warning, I will be spamming my Instagram feed with all sorts of beauty goodies. *Insert heart eyes emoji here*.
Since starting LydiaLulu a little less than a year ago now, I've rediscovered YouTube in a whole new light. Don't get me wrong, I used the online video database just as much as the next person - but I never appreciated it like I do now. The Lydia of pre-June 2014 didn't even have an account (shock horror) and mainly used YouTube as a means of satisfying her need for cute cat videos... well that still happens now but let's just say I've discovered other channels along the way. With all my favourite beauty bloggers on YouTube these days, my subscription box has pretty much replaced television. Sad but true.
I'm the kind of person who always has music playing in the background. It's kind of crazy how important a role it plays in my life. It's like I need the mental stimulation - music helps me focus so I always have it playing when I'm blogging, writing essays, or whenever I'm in the university library (not going to lie, that isn't often...). I'm not sure exactly when it happened but I think at some point I just got bored of listening to the same old songs on my iPhone and started using YouTube as a platform for discovering new music. Here are my edited favourites which have been blasting out my laptop the past few weeks...
Kodaline - Way Back When/High Hopes
Miley Cyrus - Look What They've Done to My Song
Keane - Somewhere Only We Know
Dan Croll - In/Out
Kings Of Leon - Dancing On My Own

Norah Jones - Don't Know Why
Paramore - Last Hope
John Mayer - In Your Atmosphere
Ed Sheeran - Wonderwall
Jamie Cullum - High and Dry
